Sheffield Wednesday Agree Deal for Senegalese Teen Centre-Back Mor Ndiaye
Sheffield Wednesday have agreed a deal to sign highly-rated 18-year-old centre-back Mor Ndiaye from Senegalese side Amitié FC, as the Owls move decisively to secure one of Africa’s most promising young defensive talents.
Ndiaye was identified by Sheffield Wednesday’s recruitment team following impressive performances at the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Qatar last year, where he represented Senegal  and impressed scouts with his physical strength, composure on the ball and maturity beyond his age.

After extensive monitoring, Sheffield Wednesday have now reached an agreement in principle with Amitié FC and are pushing to finalise the transfer quickly, keen to complete the deal before interest from other EFL Championship clubs intensifies. The teenager’s displays on the international stage have reportedly attracted attention from across the English Football League.

Sources close to the negotiations suggest Ndiaye is viewed as a long-term investment, fitting the club’s strategy of building with young, high-potential players. Once the move is completed, he is expected to join Sheffield Wednesday’s development pathway, with a clear plan in place to help him adapt to the physical and tactical demands of English football.
The impending signing underlines Sheffield Wednesday’s ambition in the transfer market and their commitment to youth development. An official announcement is expected soon, subject to final paperwork and international clearance.
