Fenerbahce head coach Domenico Tedesco launched an explosive rant after his side’s 3–0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest in a heated European clash.
The Turkish giants were outplayed on their own turf, conceding three goals in a disappointing performance that left supporters stunned. Forest looked sharp, disciplined and clinical, punishing defensive mistakes to secure a commanding away victory.
However, it was not only the result that infuriated Tedesco.
In a fiery post-match press conference, the Fenerbahce boss turned his anger toward sections of the travelling supporters.
“I f***ing hate Nottingham Forest,” Tedesco fumed.
“How can their fans chant such things in our stadium? They thought we don’t understand English.”
Although he did not clarify the specific chants that triggered his outburst, Tedesco described the behaviour as disrespectful and unacceptable. He went on to call for European football’s governing authorities to take action.
“This is not respect. UEFA need to ban them,” he added.
The defeat leaves Fenerbahce facing serious questions about their defensive organisation and mentality, while the controversy surrounding the alleged chanting could now escalate beyond the pitch.
As of now, there has been no official response from Nottingham Forest or European football authorities, but the fallout from a dramatic night in Istanbul appears far from over.
