The Football Association has confirmed that Coventry City forward Brandon Thomas-Asante has been handed a three-match suspension following an incident in the EFL Championship clash against Norwich City on Monday 26 January.
In an official statement released on Tuesday, the FA revealed that Thomas-Asante’s behaviour around the 34th minute of the match was not seen by the on-field officials at the time, but was later identified through video footage. After reviewing the evidence, the FA alleged that the incident amounted to violent conduct.

The governing body confirmed that Thomas-Asante admitted the charge when it was put to him and accepted the standard punishment associated with violent conduct, resulting in an automatic three-game ban.
As a consequence, the Coventry City striker will now miss the club’s upcoming Championship fixtures, dealing a blow to Mark Robins’ side as they continue their push in a tightly contested league.
Coventry City are yet to release a separate statement on the matter, but Thomas-Asante is expected to return to action once the suspension has been served in full.
