Derby County manager John Eustace has launched a scathing assessment of the atmosphere at the CBS Arena after his side suffered a dramatic 3-2 defeat to Coventry City.
In a heated post-match reaction, Eustace described the environment as the most hostile he has encountered this season, claiming it had a direct impact on his players’ performance.
“The chants were nonstop, loud, and completely unfair. They kept coming all match and made the environment extremely hostile for us.”
“That kind of atmosphere makes it so much harder to play. It felt toxic for the whole team, and you could feel it affecting everyone out there,” he said.
The Derby boss also took issue with the relentless nature of the home support, insisting the chants crossed the line and created an unfair playing environment.
Despite a spirited effort, Derby County were ultimately undone in a high-intensity contest, with Coventry edging the game 3-2 in front of a raucous home crowd.
