Leeds United’s First Summer Signing ‘Already Decided’ as Farke Eyes Premier League Stability

Leeds United could be on the verge of securing their first signing of the summer, with reports suggesting that Hidemasa Morita is closing in on a move to Elland Road.

Manager Daniel Farke has earned widespread praise for guiding Leeds through a strong Premier League campaign, and with survival now within touching distance, attention is already beginning to shift towards strengthening the squad ahead of next season.

According to Portuguese outlet A Bola, Morita’s next destination has “already been decided”, with Leeds believed to have laid the foundations for a move over the past year.

The experienced midfielder is set to leave Sporting CP when his contract expires this summer, and Elland Road is reportedly his most likely destination. Leeds are said to have made an offer to the Japanese international as far back as last summer, but Morita wanted assurances that he would be playing Premier League football rather than Championship football.

Now, with Leeds on course to confirm their top-flight status for next season, the move appears to be edging closer to completion.

Morita, 30, has impressed during his time in Portugal with his composure in midfield, tactical awareness, and ability to control the tempo of matches.
