Bournemouth Fans Ranked Premier League’s Most Positive Supporters in New Study

AFC Bournemouth supporters have been named the most positive fanbase in the Premier League according to a new study analysing online football discussions over the past year.

Research conducted by AceOdds.com examined an impressive 1.48 million Reddit comments posted by supporters of top-flight clubs during the last 12 months. The study assessed the language used by fans and measured the overall sentiment of online conversations.

The results placed Bournemouth supporters firmly at the top of the positivity rankings, with 58.54 per cent of their comments classified as positive. The figure was significantly higher than many of their Premier League rivals and highlighted the upbeat atmosphere surrounding the club’s fanbase.

The Cherries’ supporters stood out not only for their positivity but also for the generally respectful tone of their online interactions.

Bournemouth ranked as the second most polite fanbase in the Premier League, with just 4.41 per cent of comments containing swear words. Only Fulham supporters recorded a lower percentage, while Arsenal fans finished third with 5.28 per cent.

Burnley supporters were the second most positive group in the study, with 51.22 per cent of comments carrying a positive sentiment. Brentford fans followed closely behind on 50.85 per cent.

At the opposite end of the rankings, Tottenham Hotspur supporters were found to be the most negative online fanbase. The study revealed that 30.56 per cent of Spurs-related comments were classified as negative, the highest share among Premier League clubs.

The findings offer a fascinating insight into the mood of football supporters across England’s top division. Bournemouth’s rise to the top of the positivity table reflects the growing optimism around the club and its recent progress, with supporters clearly embracing the journey both on and off the pitch.

While online discussions can often become heated in modern football, Bournemouth fans have demonstrated that passionate support can still be accompanied by positivity and respect, setting a benchmark for fan communities across the Premier League.
