Sheffield Wednesday Submit Official January Bid for Highly Rated Blackburn Attacker
Sheffield Wednesday have made a decisive move in the January 2026 transfer window after submitting an official offer to sign a highly rated Blackburn Rovers attacker. The Owls are understood to be confident that a deal could materialise this month as they look to strengthen their attacking options.

According to reports on X, Sheffield Wednesday are currently leading the race for the teenager’s signature, with strong interest shown from other clubs. The attacker has been on Wednesday’s radar for a considerable period, with the club’s recruitment team closely monitoring his progress and development at Ewood Park.
Head coach Henrik and the Sheffield Wednesday hierarchy first made their interest clear last summer,
lodging two formal approaches for the youngster. The second bid was believed to be worth around £2.2 million, but both offers were rejected by Blackburn Rovers as they moved quickly to protect one of their most promising academy prospects.

Undeterred by those setbacks, the Owls have now returned with a fresh official bid as they push to bolster their squad for the second half of the season. With ambition high at Hillsborough, Sheffield Wednesday remain optimistic that renewed negotiations could finally see the highly rated attacker make the switch in January.
