Harry Amass Signing Could Complete Norwich City’s Dream XI for Championship Opener Against West Brom
Norwich City head into the 2026/27 Championship campaign full of optimism after an extraordinary revival under Philippe Clement, and the potential arrival of Harry Amass could provide the final piece of the puzzle ahead of their opening-day clash with West Bromwich Albion.
The Canaries were one of the division’s form teams during the second half of last season, collecting the fifth-most points in the Championship across the 31 matches overseen by Clement. Even more impressively, only Southampton accumulated more league points than Norwich during the 2026 calendar year.
That remarkable turnaround came after Norwich found themselves second from bottom when Clement replaced Liam Manning. What followed was one of the league’s most impressive transformations, with the Belgian guiding his side into genuine play-off contention. Their push for the top six only came to an end in the penultimate fixture of the campaign, underlining the progress made in a relatively short period.
With momentum firmly on their side, Norwich have continued to strengthen during the summer transfer window, and the addition of highly-rated Manchester United youngster Harry Amass would further enhance a squad already brimming with confidence.
The teenage left-back is regarded as one of England’s brightest defensive prospects, and his arrival would inject quality, energy and competition into Norwich’s back line. Comfortable in possession and eager to contribute in attack, Amass appears well suited to Clement’s progressive style of football.
If the deal is completed before the Championship curtain-raiser, Norwich could line up with a formidable starting XI against West Brom.
The blend of experienced campaigners and exciting young talent gives Norwich every reason to believe they can mount another serious promotion challenge. After narrowly missing out on the play-offs following their stunning resurgence last season, expectations at Carrow Road are understandably much higher this time around.
Should Amass complete his move in time for the season opener, Norwich supporters will hope he can make an immediate impact as Clement’s side look to begin their Championship campaign with a statement victory over West Brom.
