Nottingham Forest have stepped up their transfer plans after agreeing personal terms with Lyon defender Moussa Niakhate.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST AGREE PERSONAL TERMS WITH MOUSSA NIAKHATE AFTER AFCON FINAL PERFORMANCE

Forest have moved decisively behind the scenes. A contract is ready, the player’s agent is keen on the switch, and talks are now ongoing with Lyon. The French club are understood to be holding out for a club-record sale fee of around €50 million, with Nottingham Forest’s current bid falling below that valuation.
Despite the gap in valuation, negotiations remain active.

A mission to England has already taken place, underlining Forest’s serious intent and belief that a deal can be reached as discussions continue.
If completed, the move would represent a major statement of ambition from Nottingham Forest. Bringing in an AFCON-winning defender with top-level experience could significantly strengthen their back line, with Niakhate potentially moving straight from international glory to the City Ground. 
