Everton manager David Moyes has expressed strong frustration with match officials following his side’s 2–1 defeat to Bournemouth, insisting a controversial decision played a decisive role in the result.
The Toffees were beaten away from home in a tightly contested Premier League encounter, but Moyes believes the game was overshadowed by what he described as a major officiating error involving Bournemouth’s decisive goal.
Speaking after the match, the Everton boss did not hide his disappointment with the decision to allow the goal to stand.
“Today, I feel like a huge Bournemouth enemy,” Moyes said. “We could have easily won this game, but the officiating went their way.

We got cheated.”
The controversy centered around Bournemouth’s goal scored by Adli, which Everton players and coaching staff believed should have been ruled out for offside following a VAR review that ultimately upheld the on-field decision.
Moyes has now called on the Premier League and match officials to provide clarity on the incident.

“Adli’s goal was never a goal — it looked clearly offside from our perspective,” he added. “We want a VAR statement to explain the decision. These moments change games, and managers, players, and fans deserve transparency.”

Despite Everton creating several chances and pushing for an equalizer late in the game, Bournemouth held on to secure all three points in front of their home supporters.
The defeat adds pressure on Moyes’ side as they look to regain consistency, while Bournemouth continue to build momentum with another important victory.
The Premier League has yet to release an official statement regarding the VAR decision.
