The Athletic Drops Major Update as Leeds Star Closes In on Manchester United Move
Leeds United could be set to lose one of their key players this summer after a significant update from The Athletic revealed that Manchester United are stepping up their pursuit of the Elland Road star.
The Yorkshire club had been hopeful of retaining the player following their recent progress under Daniel Farke, but growing interest from Old Trafford has complicated matters significantly. According to the latest reports, Manchester United have intensified discussions behind the scenes and are increasingly confident of securing a deal in the coming weeks.
The development comes as a major blow to Leeds, who view the player as an important part of their plans ahead of the new campaign. However, the allure of joining one of England’s biggest clubs appears to be becoming increasingly difficult to resist.
Manchester United are believed to see the Leeds standout as a player capable of strengthening Erik ten Hag’s squad, with the club eager to add quality and depth in key areas before the transfer window closes. Scouts have reportedly monitored the player extensively, and senior figures at Old Trafford are convinced he can make an immediate impact.
For Leeds supporters, the news will raise concerns that another prized asset could be heading for the exit door. While no agreement has yet been officially confirmed, sources suggest negotiations are moving in a positive direction for Manchester United.
