Nottingham Forest Suffer Transfer Blow as Khéphren Thuram Rejects Summer Move Amid €40m Juventus Stance

Nottingham Forest have suffered a significant setback in their summer transfer plans after reports emerged that Juventus midfielder Khéphren Thuram has no interest in making the move to the City Ground during the current transfer window.

Forest have been eager to strengthen their midfield ahead of the new season and recently made an enquiry for the highly rated French international. However, despite the club’s ambition and growing reputation in the Premier League, Thuram is understood to have rejected the possibility of joining the Reds this summer.

The 24-year-old has impressed since arriving at Juventus and is regarded as one of the most dynamic midfielders in European football. His combination of physical strength, technical ability, and ball-carrying skills has made him a key figure for the Italian giants, who are under no pressure to sell.

Juventus have reportedly placed a €40 million valuation on Thuram, making it clear they will only consider offers that match their asking price. Even if Nottingham Forest had been willing to meet that figure, the player’s lack of interest appears to have ended any realistic hopes of completing a deal.

Forest’s disappointment could open the door for other Premier League clubs. Both Newcastle United and Aston Villa have been monitoring Thuram’s situation closely over recent months and are believed to remain interested should an opportunity arise later in the transfer window.

Newcastle continue to search for midfield reinforcements as they prepare for another demanding campaign, while Aston Villa are also keen to add quality and depth to their squad following their recent progress under Unai Emery.

With Juventus standing firm on their valuation and Thuram attracting interest from several top-flight clubs, the battle for his signature could intensify in the coming weeks. Whether Newcastle or Aston Villa decide to meet the Italian club’s demands remains to be seen.

For Nottingham Forest, however, attention is likely to turn towards alternative targets as they look to strengthen their squad before the transfer window closes. Missing out on a player of Thuram’s calibre is undoubtedly a blow, but the club remains determined to continue building a competitive team for the season ahead.
