Bournemouth Secure Alex Scott on Long-Term Deal with £85m Release Clause

Bournemouth have received a major boost ahead of the new season after midfielder Alex Scott agreed a new long-term contract that will keep him at the Vitality Stadium until 2030.

The agreement represents a significant statement of intent from the Cherries, who have moved quickly to secure the future of one of their brightest stars following an outstanding campaign.

As part of the new deal, Scott’s contract reportedly includes a substantial £85 million release clause, which will become active during the January transfer window. That clause is then set to reduce to £75 million when the summer transfer window opens, giving interested clubs a defined pathway should they wish to pursue the highly-rated midfielder.

The new contract is a huge victory for Bournemouth, ensuring they retain the services of their reigning Player of the Season for at least another year despite growing interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Scott has established himself as one of the Premier League’s most exciting young midfielders since arriving from Bristol City. His composure on the ball, creativity, work rate, and maturity beyond his years have made him a key figure in Bournemouth’s midfield and a fan favourite at the Vitality Stadium.

By tying the England Under-21 international down until 2030, Bournemouth have not only strengthened their squad but also protected one of their most valuable assets. The sizeable release clauses reflect both the club’s confidence in Scott’s future and the premium any potential suitor would have to pay to secure his signature.

The new deal is another sign of Bournemouth’s ambition as they continue building a competitive squad capable of challenging higher up the Premier League table.

With his future now secured, Bournemouth supporters will be hoping Alex Scott can build on his impressive performances and continue playing a central role in the club’s progress over the coming seasons.
