The Sky Blues manager received a timely boost with the return of key attackers Jack Rudoni and Haji Wright to the matchday squad. Both players resumed training earlier this week after recovering from calf and groin injuries respectively. However, Lampard has opted for caution, naming the duo on the bench rather than risking them from the start.

There was less positive news regarding Brandon Thomas-Asante, who misses out entirely despite returning to training following a hamstring issue. Meanwhile, winger Ephron Mason-Clark is among the substitutes after a long international trip with Jamaica, having only just returned from Mexico on Thursday.

Defensively, Lampard has chosen to rest Joel Latibeaudiere after his international exertions, handing a start to Liam Kitching, who partners Bobby Thomas at the heart of the backline. Milan van Ewijk continues at right-back, while Jay Dasilva keeps his place on the left despite featuring twice for Wales during the international break.

In goal, Carl Rushworth retains his position, while in midfield, Frank Onyeka—fresh from international duty with Nigeria—slots back into the side alongside Matt Grimes. The pair anchor Lampard’s preferred 4-2-3-1 formation as Coventry aim to maintain stability in the middle of the park.
