Sheffield Wednesday Enter New Era as Arise Capital Partners Complete Takeover

Sheffield Wednesday are set to embark on a new chapter after a US-based consortium, Arise Capital Partners, finalised their takeover of the club, according to reports from The Star.

The long-awaited deal was completed this afternoon, bringing an end to a turbulent period for the crisis-hit club. Sources close to the situation confirmed that all necessary paperwork has now been concluded, formally transferring ownership to the American investment group.

Despite the significance of the development, The Star reports that an official announcement is unlikely to be made today due to logistical challenges. However, anticipation is already building among supporters, with celebrations planned at Hillsborough Stadium on Saturday.

The ground, expected to be sold out, will host what is being described as a major occasion—marking both the conclusion of a protracted ownership saga and the beginning of a fresh era for the historic club.

Further fuelling excitement, incoming co-owner David Storch hinted at the breakthrough on Friday by sharing a celebratory image on social media. The photo showed him raising a glass of champagne alongside joint administrator Kris Wigfield and his son and fellow co-owner Michael, suggesting that the deal was all but sealed.

For Wednesday fans, the takeover represents renewed hope after months of uncertainty. Attention will now turn to the consortium’s plans for stabilising the club and restoring its fortunes, both on and off the pitch.

More details are expected to emerge in the coming days as the new ownership group prepares to address supporters and outline their vision for the future.
