Turki Alalshikh in Advanced Talks Over Derby County Investment as Major Pride Park Update Emerges
Fresh optimism is building around Derby County after reports emerged that Saudi businessman Turki Alalshikh is in advanced talks to invest in the Championship club.
The Rams have experienced a remarkable recovery since local businessman and lifelong supporter David Clowes stepped in to rescue the club from administration back in 2022. Derby had been pushed to the brink following years of financial instability under the previous ownership, with severe points deductions eventually leading to relegation to League One.
Since Clowes’ takeover, however, the mood around Pride Park has changed dramatically. Stability returned behind the scenes, and on the pitch the club has steadily rebuilt its reputation within the EFL.
Under manager John Eustace, Derby enjoyed an impressive Championship campaign this season, finishing eighth and narrowly missing out on the play-off places on the final day. Although there was disappointment at falling short of promotion contention, many supporters believe the club is finally moving in the right direction again.
Now, an even bigger development could be on the horizon.

According to respected reporter John Percy, Turki Alalshikh is currently in “advanced talks” over investing in Derby County, a move that could significantly strengthen the club financially ahead of next season.
Clowes has previously admitted that while his passion for Derby remains unquestionable, competing financially with some of the Championship’s biggest spenders is becoming increasingly difficult. Clubs across the division continue to attract major outside investment, making promotion to the Premier League more competitive than ever.
An agreement involving Alalshikh could therefore represent a huge moment for Derby’s long-term ambitions.

The Saudi businessman has become one of the most influential figures in global sport in recent years, heavily involved in boxing, entertainment, and football-related projects. His arrival at Pride Park would instantly raise the club’s profile and potentially provide the financial backing needed to push for Premier League promotion.
For Derby supporters, the news will spark both excitement and cautious optimism. After years of uncertainty and financial turmoil, the idea of fresh investment arriving while the club is already stable under Clowes could be viewed as the perfect next step in the Rams’ rebuild.
With talks reportedly progressing, attention will now turn to whether a formal agreement can be reached in the coming weeks — and what it could mean for Derby County’s future ambitions.
