World Cup Striker Bamba Dieng Closes In on Transfer After Derby County Interest
Senegal international Bamba Dieng appears set to bring months of transfer speculation to an end, with the former World Cup striker reportedly closing in on a move to Turkish side Amed SK after attracting interest from several clubs, including Derby County.
The 25-year-old has been one of the most talked-about free agents on the market this summer following his decision to leave French club Lorient at the end of last season. His availability without a transfer fee sparked interest from teams across Europe and the Middle East, with Derby County among the clubs linked with a move.
Burnley were also credited with an interest in the striker as they searched for attacking reinforcements ahead of the new campaign. Dieng’s experience at both club and international level made him an attractive option for clubs looking to strengthen their forward line without paying a transfer fee.
Despite the interest from England, the striker now looks destined for Turkey. Reports suggest that Amed SK have moved quickly to secure his signature and are now on the verge of completing the deal.

Italian journalist Matteo Moretti has reported that only a few “minor details” remain before the transfer is officially completed, with both parties believed to be confident of reaching a full agreement in the coming days.
Before Amed SK emerged as favourites, Saudi Pro League side Al-Shabab had also explored the possibility of signing Dieng. However, reports indicate that the club was unable to secure the necessary financial backing to finalise the transfer, opening the door for the Turkish outfit to step in.
Dieng has built an impressive reputation since breaking through at Marseille before moving to Lorient. His pace, movement and ability to score important goals have made him a valuable attacking option throughout his career.
On the international stage, the striker has represented Senegal at the highest level, including appearances at the FIFA World Cup, adding valuable experience to his résumé. His performances for the Lions of Teranga have further enhanced his reputation as a proven forward capable of making an impact in different competitions.
For Derby County, missing out on Dieng would mean turning their attention to alternative attacking targets as preparations continue for the new season. While the Rams were linked with the Senegalese forward, it now appears increasingly unlikely that a move to Pride Park will materialise.
Unless there is a dramatic late twist, Bamba Dieng’s next chapter will be in Turkey, with Amed SK expected to confirm the signing once the remaining formalities have been completed.
