Coventry City Agree Deal for Senegalese Defensive Prospect Mor Ndiaye
Coventry City have agreed a deal to sign highly-rated 18-year-old centre-back Mor Ndiaye from Senegalese club Amitié FC, as the Sky Blues move quickly to secure one of Africa’s most promising young defenders.

Ndiaye was identified by Coventry’s recruitment team following standout performances at the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Qatar last year, where he represented Senegal  and impressed scouts with his strength, composure on the ball and maturity at the heart of defence.

After extensive monitoring, Coventry City have now reached an agreement in principle with Amitié FC and are pushing to finalise the transfer swiftly, determined to complete the deal before interest from Premier League clubs intensifies. The teenager’s rapid development has reportedly attracted attention across Europe, prompting Coventry to act decisively.

Sources close to the negotiations indicate that Ndiaye is viewed as a long-term investment, fitting neatly into the club’s strategy of developing young, high-potential talent. Once the move is completed, he is expected to join Coventry’s development pathway, with a clear plan in place to help him adapt to English football and progress toward senior football.
The impending signing underlines Coventry City’s ambition and expanding global scouting network. An official announcement is expected soon, subject to final paperwork and international clearance.
