Micah Richards Hails Rayan’s “Very Impressive” Debut as Bournemouth Unearth a New Star

Micah Richards has heaped praise on Bournemouth’s new Brazilian winger Rayan following a stunning debut that immediately caught the eye, insisting the Cherries may have found a perfect successor to Antoine Semenyo.
Introduced from the bench, Rayan wasted no time in making his presence felt. Despite coming on as a substitute, the Brazilian displayed composure, sharp decision-making and a clinical edge, immediately lifting Bournemouth’s attacking threat.

Deployed on the left flank, he showcased pace, flair and confidence beyond his years, before capping his performance with a well-timed assist, underlining his end product and match-changing ability.
His impact did not go unnoticed by Richards, who took to social media to express his excitement over what he had seen.
“Very impressive debut from Rayan off the left today,” Richards said. “What I like to hear from Vasco fans is the fact he is much more effective on the right rather than the left. If he’s that good on the left, just imagine him on the right… some player we have on our hands.”

The former England defender also referenced feedback from Rayan’s former club Vasco da Gama, where supporters believe the youngster is even more dangerous when operating on the right wing — a prospect that has already sparked huge excitement among Bournemouth fans.
Rayan’s substitute appearance has strengthened the feeling that Bournemouth did not truly lose Semenyo after his exit. Instead, they appear to have secured a ready-made, high-quality replacement with the potential to grow even further.
For a debut, it was close to perfect: impact off the bench, creativity in the final third, and an assist to top it off. If this is only the beginning, Bournemouth may have uncovered a real gem. ✨
