Frank Onyeka Set to Join Coventry City as Lampard Promises More New Faces
Coventry City have reached a full agreement with Brentford to sign Nigerian international Frank Onyeka, with the deal now agreed between all parties.
The Sky Blues will take Onyeka on loan, with a view to making the move permanent in the summer, marking a significant addition to Frank Lampard’s squad as he looks to strengthen the team for the remainder of the season.

Onyeka, 27, brings Premier League experience, intensity and energy to Coventry’s midfield. Since arriving in England from FC Midtjylland, the Super Eagles star has built a reputation for his ball-winning ability, high work rate and tactical discipline, qualities Lampard believes will immediately improve his side.
Speaking after the deal was sealed, Frank Lampard reassured Coventry supporters that Onyeka’s arrival is only the beginning.
“We’re working hard to improve the squad, and Frank is a player who fits exactly what we need right now,” Lampard said. “The fans can expect more signings — we’re not done yet.”

The move is seen as a statement of intent from Coventry City, who are aiming to push higher up the table and remain competitive in the second half of the campaign. Onyeka is expected to slot straight into Lampard’s midfield plans and provide balance, aggression and leadership.
For Onyeka, the switch offers the chance for regular football and a key role, while Coventry retain the option to secure his long-term future if the loan proves successful.
